Permission To Be Freaked Out (Cancerventures)

“The Truth shall set you free.”

John 8:32

‍ ‍

Breast cancer is grizzly. Ugly. Scary. Painful.

‍ ‍

And beautiful.

‍ ‍

Beautiful?

‍ ‍

Yes, because there’s truth in it.

‍ ‍

We try to run away from the Truth, but it’s there.

‍ ‍

Including how images so deeply affect us.

‍ ‍

It’s okay to see horror at the way cancer changes things: bodies, lives, appearances of all kinds.

‍ ‍

Admit that you don’t want to look at, you don’t want to face what you’re facing.

‍ ‍

You have permission to be freaked out.

‍ ‍

“I will never leave you, nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5
